The Borough’s next military-run Mobile Test Centre is scheduled to take place at Southport Eco Centre from Monday 25th to Wednesday 27th May.
Test are available to everyone aged over 5 although essential workers, as well as other eligible groups and members of their households, may be prioritised, nationally. The tests provide a clinical diagnosis and are not an antibody test that tells you if you had Covid-19 in the past.
Testing is vital to the ongoing work to overcome COVID-19 and means that key workers who test negative are able to return to their roles and almost 2,000 people have now been tested at Sefton Borough’s Mobile Test sites.
Anyone attending must have pre-booked an appointment by visiting www.gov.uk/apply-coronavirus-test and have an appointment before going to the site.
Further Mobile Test Centres are expected to take place in Litherland, Maghull and Southport again over the coming weeks.
The success of these Tests Sites continues to be the result of the close work between Sefton Council officers and colleagues in the health and other sectors.

The Council provide the site and services and set it up for the Military.

Still a tad confused as to what they actually do,
The success of these Tests Sites continues to be the result of the close work between Sefton Council officers and colleagues in the health and other sectors.
clearly they let them have the site and give them access but I am wondering what they do beyond that as apparently the success of the site depends on them.

The logistics.
Arrange signage, publicity, layout of the site, arranging the cones, the gazebos everything so the military can just turn up and do the job.

Yes I suppose someone has to open up.
I just thought from the press release the council had more to do.

It's the Military that don't have much to do, I can't understand why they aren't utilising one of the Health Centres in the area that are lying idle.

Only put themselves at risk by taking the samples!
The reason they're using the eco centre is so that people can drive up and stay in their cars to keep the risks lower than if people were going in and out of buildings, such as the empty health centres.
