A Post Box on the Promenade has been ripped out of the ground. It is not clear if it has been hit or vandalised. The contents have been removed.

Well if it's vandals I'm keeping well clear, One must be green and the other must carry a bloody great hammer only he can lift.

It's being reported elsewhere that it was a car.

That must have been one heck of an impact, resulting in serious damage to the car (and traces of 'pillar box red' paint left on it), and possible injury to the driver.

That was no car! Even the toughest car would have left parts of its body work lying around. It would have been a truck,. Looks like the box was hit several times - intentionally! The lock has broken open and the contents removed.

I guess somebody really didn't want that letter to get sent.
