Round the clock care support is being offered to disabled members of the public and their carers from across Merseyside during the coronavirus crisis.

National charity Revitalise is offering including access to facilities, care and nursing teams to disabled people at Revitalise Sandpipers in Southport.

The team, who usually offer holidays for disabled people and their carers, during the current crisis, they are now offering a place to stay either short or long term, for disabled people no longer able to get the care they need at home.

Many disabled people are supported by a family member, or private carer who visits them at home, and can very quickly be at risk if that person becomes ill - unable to get support, or even basic supplies.

Revitalise Sandpipers is fully accessible, with equipment including hoists, profiling beds and airflow mattresses.

The teams are comprised of registered nurses and care assistants and are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.

Revitalise Sandpipers’ general manager Darren Holloran said: “We are very pleased to be able to offer a sanctuary of care and support to disabled people during this worrying time. Hopefully this will be one less thing to worry about and we welcome you to stay safe at Revitalise.”
