Down but not out - latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) show the terrible toll Covid has had on local media, including Southport based Champion newspapers.
Bosses slashed its papers from seven to three with reporters now posting news on its website and FB. Even worse, last year its average weekly circulation figures dropped from 164,824 to 143,191.
Records also show that Waypride of Lord St. distributed over 5 million papers in 2020 - that's an awful lot of trees!
